What’s a penny good for?
What’s a penny good for these days? Well, Pumped for Change, a non-profit org out of South Florida, is betting that pennies can make positive change in the lives of homeless citizens in their community. Through The Million Penny Project™, P4C is raising funds and awareness around homelessness; with a goal to raise one million pennies ($10,000) for each participating partner charity.

You know, it’s good to see someone put the penny to use. I’ve wondered what our currently and markets would be like if we removed all coins, not just the penny. I rarely ever use pennies (and I really mean that, I even toss them or leave them behind) – I find them inconsequential, but when I read something like this, all those pennies do add up. I guess it’s sort of like skimming off the top from Office Space, except in a good way.
